Children are little sponges absorbing everything around
them! Art classes for pre-schoolers are extremely beneficial in that they introduce and enhance the most fundamental
skills: spatial relations, fine-motor dexterity and cognitive ability. Little ones think they’re playing with art, but
they’re actually engrossed in an incredibly educational process!
Elementary school students are always eager to be creatively
adventurous, and providing them with basic skills equips them with the tools necessary to realize their artistic potential.
The most illuminating educational experience is the one in which the student can not only personally relate to
what is being taught but fully embraces the activity because of the pleasurable response it evokes.
Children are reactors as opposed to responders. Art
lessons not only invigorate and enhance creative ability, they also serve to awaken the response mechanism in the brain.
Through art expression, a form of self-discipline develops. Young children learn to respond to stimulus instead
of just reacting to it. It may be a response to application of color, use of texture, form or spacing - but
it is thoughtful response. Exercising this “response vs. reaction” skill is a learned behavior, and acquiring
this ability has broad-scale impact on the developmental process.
Other than the educational benefit, art classes are just plain
old fun! We offer a wide variety of creative play and learning with classes suited to the littlest of hands and dearest of
hearts!
