To
the very special students and friends of ARTWORKS…
Few
people in a lifetime are given the opportunity to do what they dream of doing. For me, having my own studio within which I could share my love of creativity with
children ~ to encourage, delight, teach and celebrate with them ~ has been such a dream.
After
many years of having the privilege and joy of serving our community in a studio setting, the time
has come for ARTWORKS to grow in a new direction. At
the end of the Summer Mini Camp Session in late August, we closed our studio doors and said
goodbye to our little storefront. This has been a terribly
difficult decision to make, but a necessary one. We have
loved our special studio space, but the cost to lease and operate a small business in our region
is overwhelming. Therefore, we have simply had to
step back and creatively design a new path on which to chart our course as we move forward ~ and
we are moving forward, with great anticipation!
We
are currently working with area schools, preschools, community centers and organizations to
provide the same ARTWORKS classes we have always offered, but at other locations. We will have a newly designed website soon full of information about where we'll
be and what will be happening!
Several
thousand smiling faces have come through the ARTWORKS Studio doors over the years.
You have touched our lives in ways that no words can express.
It's never really been about art… it's been about cultivating in young minds and hearts
the sense of sheer joy, the love of creativity and the deep contentment that pure and noble self-expression
affords.
With
unspeakable gratitude and in humility, I thank you for sharing your children with me. They have been such a gift in my life - every single one of them.
